Press Statement:
IIlene Sunshine’s out of line is comprised of seven three-dimensional drawing installations, which utilize found materials such as tree branches, vines, rope, tubing and tape to create lines that “grow” from the walls and floors.  Her works inhabit the gallery as beds in a garden and take inspiration from the environment at Kentler as well as the aesthetic of the neighborhood of Red Hook.
