About the exhibition
GESTURE AS VALUE

Concept and Organization
January 3 - January 9, 1997
Reception: January 3, 6-8pm
"The Gesture as Value Project originated out of a homesickness for my weekly ritual of going to the Second Avenue Bank. The tellers who knew my balance, the rings and clothes they wore, I wondered about their shoes and the lives they lead."
If a personal Gesture is available with a transaction associated with monetary value, could it be regarded with the same importance, credibility as a financial transaction?
I decided to collect individual expressions on pieces of paper that would be accessible to the public through ATM Bank Machines. –The distribution is worldwide, multi-Lingual, mulit-Disciplinary. The value is the personal expression of an individual.
Gestures thus far contributed are on view during this exhibition.
