Two Family Programs:
EXPLORING COLOR THROUGH MOKUHANGA
A SUMMER GARDEN in the CITY
Saturday, June 18, 10am-12:00pm
Teaching Artists: Kate MacDonagh and Lucy May Schofield
Families will create a garden at the three color workstations to print with pre-cut woodblocks:
1. Circles
2. Rectangular shapes
3. Ovals
The various colored shapes will be collaged together, overlapping (using Nori) to see how colors mix. A whole garden, an installation will be created and can be pasted to the door or window, or outside in the garden.
EXPLORING MOKUHANGA for FAMILIES
Saturday, July 9, 10AM -12:00 PM
Teaching Artist: Katie Baldwin
Children will work with balsa wood, ballpoint pens, and water-based paint to create a mokuhanga woodblock print.
All material will be supplied.
