Maureen McNeil will read from her collection of fiction, Red Hook Stories, at the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition. She will talk about the sensory beauty of the neglected historic neighborhood during the 1980s and the diverse community who mourned, protested and celebrated together.

A reception at Kentler International Drawing Space (353 Van Brunt St.) will follow the talk with two exhibitions on view: Light + Material and Focus on the Flatfiles: Views from Red Hook. These exhibitions will run from April 15 - May 28.
